Personal info


Current status:
I am a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Liverpool, UK. 

Studies and Experience:
I worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) at George Mason University (GMU), USA (2019-2022). Prior, I was a Research Assistant Professor at the  Department of Geography and GeoInformation Science at George Mason University, USA (2017-2019).  Previously, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS).

I received my PhD in December 2015 at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, Greece), as a member of the Knowledge and Database Systems Laboratory's group, under the supervision of Prof. Yannis Vassiliou. I was also a recipient of the 'HERACLEITUS II' EU-funded research fellowship.

I received my diploma at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and wrote my diploma thesis under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis.

Research interests:
My main research interests lie in the areas of data science, databases, data mining, machine learning, and urban analytics. I am also interested in the design and development of anonymization algorithms for privacy-preserving data publications.
